Cash Shot Clock™
How many days has your company got?
Two directions, and your company is moving in one of them right now. Building cash: every dollar you make pushes the wall further out. Burning cash: every dollar you spend brings it closer.
The Cash Shot Clock™ is how many days you have before you hit that wall. Every strategy, every hire, every bet has to clear it, and a plan that pays off on the far side of the wall is not a plan. That is why it is a shot clock and not a countdown. You do not watch it. You plan inside it.
Find out which one you are in.
5 numbers, 90 seconds. Your bank balance right now, plus 4 month-end balances. Your numbers stay in your browser, and nothing is sent unless you ask for the report.
You will need what is in the bank today, and your closing balance for each of the last 4 completed months.
What the number reads
Bank truth. Every debit and every credit that moved through the account, which includes debt principal, owner draws, capital purchases, and taxes. Those are the payments a survival estimate built from operating expenses leaves out, and they are the usual reason a profitable business has no cash.
The formula, the 5 bands, and the 2 floors are published in full in the Field Guide.
